One of the most interesting autumn activities on The Isle of Wight is Autumn Aurora at Robin Hill Country Park, in which the woodlands are lit in an array of autumnal colours alongside entertainment by fire jugglers with the background of acoustic music.

There is also a Halloween tail at the Park during half term for those looking for something spooktacular to do. Interestingly The Isle of Wight is said to be one of the most haunted areas of the UK. Activities on offer over across the Isle over Halloween include a travelling circus of horrors in the oldest parts of the Isle, complete with ringmaster and some unexpected ghouls throughout the walk or perhaps a ghost experience interests you – whilst you tour through the abandoned Northwood House, situated in Northwood Park – a former Red Cross Hospital.

For children there are also the Wizard Week at The Isle of Wight Steam Railway comprising of a fancy dress competition, ride on the steam train and a walk through the enchanted woods. Carisbrooke Castle offer a fantastic selection of half term Halloween fun, where children can make creepy crafts and ghost hunt whilst listening to terrifying tales by the castles ghost hunter.

The Isle of Wight is home to the rare red squirrel breed, there are many nature walks in which you can see them in their natural habitat, many of these walks hosted by The National Trust take place during the autumn months.


If you are wanting to capture special memories on camera during your Isle of Wight break, autumn is the best time to do this (according to the professionals) , the light through the trees, changing of the leaves and colours of nature all ingredients of beautiful photography.
